What’s a good book to buy for a 16 year old girl?

In my school, we have this program where we buy books and boots for kids whose parents can’t get them Christmas presents. I’m buying a sixteen year ancient girl a book, but I’m not sure what to get her. Do you have any thoughts?

I would go for something by Sarah Dessen. Her books are really excellent, and they’re not your typical crap brainless books either. I like Lock and Key, and This Lullaby the best. I should know, I’m 16
Or if you wanna play safe, just get her To Kill a Mockingbird.
The twilight collection is really well loved right now.

I like the Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison. The 1st book is called Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging. It’s an English series. The series is about a girl named Georgia Nicolson and her adventures with her friends.
Another excellent book is Flipped by Wendelin van Draanen. It’s told in two different perspectives: Juli’s and Bryce’s. The book talks about Bryce and Juli’s lives. When they first met, Juli liked Bryce and Bryce tried to avoid her as much as he could. But when they reach eighth grade, Bryce likes Juli and she avoids him. It’s a really excellent book. One of the best I’ve ever read.
