TO ANY STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION OFFICE IN THAT AREA.
To the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
They talked about this on the Today show weekend edition today. They could really use your books. The librarian from one school was on and said that the books being donated are adult novels and not suitable for the school library. I hope this helps.

and salvation army are my two.
any pediatrician’s office is glad to get excellent books for the exam and waiting rooms!
you can donate the books to the library
You might try to do an internet search for local schools and see what you come up with. If you can find contact info for the schools, you could question them if they were interested in a donation of children’s books. Also, if schools are unable to take the books, perhaps a city or county library would be interested.
The library in your area would be glad to take them–or you could donate to a school //or a childrens daycare .

If it was me I would go for the first two, but the last one would be a fantastic choice also.

And what about ALL the children in your own community that could use those books? I volunteer at the local school in the second grade level, we do not have a very excellent supply. So I hunt the local thrift shops for them, Hospice shops & Salvation Army are some of the cheapest. Come on! Reckon local!
