What was the name of the award given to childrens books that was a golden seal on the cover?

Do you mean the Newbery Medal winners?
If so, you can go to their site and check through all the medal winners from 1922 on.
By the way, there are also Caldecott Medal winners. For some reason my computer won’t let me get to the site which lists these book winners from 1938 on, but Wikipedia has a list. Check

***BTW: Winners of both those awards get a “medal” on the front cover of the book.
