I'm afraid Ill have to say I'm guilty here.
Although I do like to give my son lots of veg and fruit (which he loves too) I don't find myself reading the small print on everything he puts in his mouth.
I guess it would be a good idea to, but common sense suffices for me

I do check ingredients a lot, primarily because I'm a vegetarian (he's not, but close), though that doesn't always mean we eat the most healthy of foods, either.

For juice, I do look for 100%. He's taken a liking to some chewy fruit bars and likes Sunchips. Sometimes it's apples or grapes - but we also eat rice krispie treats (not tons - hah!) and both of us like a hit of chocolate once in a while. He likes hard boiled eggs, too (and will eat them without salt) and corn on the cob without butter.

He can tell you that some things are just full of sugar (Gatorade, which he enjoys, is sugar water) or salt (soy sauce).

I do mostly notice animal products and percentages of different ingredients. There are some chicken nuggets I purchase on occasion, too, that are 100% chicken - which can be hard to find. Same with fish sticks. We mostly eat fake bacon and fake hot dogs - still not the greatest for you, but better than the real thing. (We eat Worthington.)

P.S. He just picked out some snack food - cheddar flavored rice cakes, a blueberry/gran bar and ritz bits with peanut butter. Not too shabby!
