Nessie Cullen questioned:

I’m twelve but I read Eclipse (this is be for breaking dawn came out) when I was eleven.

I got my sister (she’d 10) and my cousin (also 10) to read twilight.

My sister just finished reading Breaking Dawn and my cousin is on New Moon.

I Have read all 4 Books About a hundred times.

How do you feel about us reading twilight?

Should I let other 9- 10 year olds read it?

  1. Yeah I say they can read it ^-^

  2. nah i reckon 12 should be got off…breaking dawn is a small risky

  3. No, its all about *** in the last 2 books

Ugh, 15 year olds shouldnt even read it

  4. Rachael L says:

Yea but sont let them read Breaking dawn……not suitable for kids under 12

  5. Animal Lover says:

I would say yes but no! Depends on the kid! If the kid is very babyish and immature, No! Some parts are innapropriate! More mature, bright kids, yes! They know the harder words and don’t freak out when something happens! I really don’t object but depends on the kid! My cousin is i reckon….. 9 or 10! he isnt my real cousin, we arent related any way! He is immature and very babyish so if it was him no! My other cousin his sister, she is 10 or 11. She is very bright and mature, so I would let her!

I would only let them read the first two books!
    Why?
Eclipse- innapropriate, extremely violent, lots of curses (well not really terrible words but not things you want kids saying)

Breaking Dawn- VERY innapropriate, violent (? havent read it), I am guessing curses are in this one too!

    Hope this helps!

  6. i am 13 and i just finished reading the first book. but i don’t reckon they should be reading the book because it more uppy tale i more romance here and there that children under 12 don’t really know about yet and don’t know it. besides i have heard that in the last 2 books it talks about *** and they shouldn’t be going that far

  7. ~Sarah~ says:

i reckon your fine to read it. breaking dawn might be a small inappropriate for 10 year olds. (personally i despised the book anyways and reckon no one should read it)

  8. Oh, no!

I read the first one when I was twelve, kinda forgot about it [lol] and then just recently [by recently, I mean March 2008] got back into them.

Anyways, I reckon that 12 is the youngest they should be read at. Breaking Dawn has suggestion of sex, and that’s not really appropriate for 9 and 10 year olds.

I say 12+ is a excellent age. If they were ment to be read by kids, they would be in the kids section, but they are in the teen section.

Eclipse and Breaking Dawn get a small bit steamier, and I certainly don’t reckon they are appropriate for a 10 year ancient.

For you, I reckon it’s cool that you got into them.

For your 10 year ancient family members, YIPES!

It’s not just about the ‘steamy’ scenes, though. It’s about how much they are gonna ‘get’ it. Do they really know like? How it works? How it doesn’t work it all, but it just is? Probably not. Even if they are mature, life has not given them the experiences.

I’m not gonna go weep in a corner over this, lol, but that’s my honest opinion, and you wanted honest, right??

  9. Kate M says:

No I am sorry I don’t reckon so there is one imparticular that has a reference to stalking and leaving a window unlocked and something about getting undressed in front of a window . These are things that young girls should not be inferring as romantic in any shape or form .

  10. i say yes except for breaking dawn. not for kids under 12

  11. Missy F says:

Well i heard it gets kinda innapropriate towards the end.. not sure if thats right. But uh its a excellent tale to read but it might be too scary/too mature for them at there age. Because its really intense and they might not know some of it, and it might make them confused on like. I don’t know just a thought

  12. linelix says:

There is nothing incorrect with young kids reading twilight. Perhaps the only worry you should have is in Breaking Dawn, because there are a lot of “sexual” parts.
